Starlooks Starbox February 2014 Unboxing + Swatches

Hello my lovelies,

now finally after waiting for way too long, I have received the February starbox. For those who don't know what Starbox is, it is a monthly subscription service where you will receive full size Starlooks makeup items each month. It costs $ 15.- per month plus shipping and is available worldwide. Also in your birthday month, they usually send you a birthday box too! Just as a bonus.

Now the products that you will receive always exceed in value what you paid for the box. And my experience with Starlooks is that their products are usually really high quality.

Enough blabbing. Lets get to the box itself.

It seems like a pretty good filled starbox for February. Usually the colors can be a total hit or miss.

The first product in this box is this lipstick in Lilu, well to be honest I am not a big fan of gold lipstick but I might be able to use this color for an ombre lip.

The second product in this box is a cream eyeshadow in the color Phaser, it is a purple blue-ish color and to be honest not a huge fan. Just by the texture I can already tell it is going to be a cream shadow that is going to crease like crazy on my lids. Also the swatch I had to do it 2 times in order to get some color pay off, not the best Starlooks product out there.

Now the last product in this box besides the extras is this pigment, and the color is called Wall Street. Now I am not a huge fan of pigments because I always end up with tons of fall out and when I take off my makeup I always find some specks of glitter on my face even after washing. The color is a very dark grey with multi-colored glitters. When I do receive pigments I like to receive vibrant colors so I can play around with for makeup looks. The pigment is very nice quality, but the color is nothing special.

Now for the extras, I received a headband to hold back my hair whilst doing makeup which is always handy. And a quartz crystal, they put this in every starbox so you can collect these and put them in your makeup brushes jar to give your brushes good energy.

Also I received a code for $35.- giftcard. Basically if you join Starbox you will receive an extra gift worth $35.- every 3 months just for being a subscriber. This giftcard you can use on the Starlooks website.. Now what should I buy from them?

Haul Post

Benefit Boi-ing Eye Bright Compact Review

I have a review post for you guys, this is basically a 2 in 1 review as it contains 2 different products from the Benefit range.

I hauled this the other day and if you haven't seen that haul click here to go to that post. This was one of the products I ordered with my Benefit Cosmetics order. I was pretty excited because I have used both products before and I really enjoy them.

The compact is pretty small, and if you look at it at first glance it is just a small black compact. You would not expect there would be 2 products in 1 little compact. The compact itself is of black shiny plastic, and has a tiny benefit logo on the bottom.

When you open the compact, there is a mirror in it, and at the top there is the Boi-ing concealer in shade 2 and at the bottom there is an eye brightner. Now I do have a medium skintone so the concealer shade is perfect for me, for light skintones you probably have no use to this little compact, because the concealer is on the darker side. 

The concealer itself, is really nice and creamy. You can apply it with your fingers or with a brush. Personally I like to use my fingers as it seems to make the concealer much creamier because of the body heat and it blends more easily. The concealer has a nice coverage, I would say medium to full coverage. I like it for blemishes and when needed also as an undereye concealer. 

The eye-brightner that is in the compact is a pale pink shade and is also of a cream consistency. I first experienced this product with my smokin eyes palette by Benefit. I loved it back then, so I thought I couldn't go wrong. Well this is a very thick consistency so it can look a bit cakey on your browbone, where it should be used. Right underneath your brows. It does brighten up your eyelook, I would recommend it putting it on before you put on your eyeshadow. I put it on after my eyeshadow once and that was not a good look. So if you would like to use this product, I would recommend taking a little bit on your finger and blend it out because once again the cream melts a bit whilst on your finger. Also what I do like to use this product on is on my inner eye corner. It gives an instant brightning effect on your eyeshadow look.

Overall, I would try this out if you have never tried both of these products before. Because this little compact is only half of the price of a normal sized Boi-ing concealer. If you don't like creamy products that if not used right can be cakey, this is definitely not for you.

I have finally decided to get back on to my blogging again. Recently I have been getting a lot more time on my hands and also the fact that I have now decided to stop procastinating and start blogging again or just stop entirely. And to be honest I cannot bare to stop with blogging entirely.

So to start of, I have decided to start linking up my unboxing videos again with my blog posts so that everything is documented.
